Muscular guy - 01-31-2010, 11:58 AM

Hello everyone I just boght the splits dvd video. Now i'm a big muscular guy at 230 and have big legs. Ive been taking kick boxing for about 7 months and have improved a little on my flexibility. I also bought the versaflex which is helping. So my question is how long does it take for one to do a full split. I will be putting a 100% into the dvd I got and will do everything on the dvd. Now should I do it 3x a week every day. I use the versaflex every day but i'm very serious on wanting to get my legs flexible. Ive never been flexible before in my life because there was no reason to. But since i'm into kick boxing and love it I want to kick higher and better now. I'm a very serious weight lifter also the one thing I did was stop working out on my legs because I get a great work out in class 3x a week,or should I still work out on my legs.I'm also 42.

Hello, your how long question is answered very well by other members.Try to browse other posts re flexibility. I'm also a beginner and I find time to read all comments because there are a lot of valuable explanations that are shared. You will learn that there is no uniform time frame for everyone to be able to do the splits. It depends on one's level of fitness, flexibility, age and other factors. One can do it after several weeks while others can do it after several months. My guess is you will be able to do a full front split in 6 months and a side split in 8 months. That's just a guess -). Don't be discouraged if that's too long for you. With your weight maybe you can just spread your legs and you will be down on the floor in a split. Just joking, peace!
