beginner at doing splits.. - 02-05-2010, 03:07 PM

Hello everyone, I purchased the DVD on Everything you need to know about Splits and I am very excited to start. I just want to know about where everyone was at when they first started training for the split. Were you far from the ground? and how far? I'm afraid that at age 23 I won't be able to get the splits. I have no dance or martial arts background (wish I did) but I am a bit flexible. I am a inspiring pole fitness dancer and being able to do a split would help me with my training tremendously. Could some of you tell me your stories on how long it took you and what kind of time you spent doing the stretches? Did Paul's books and DVDs help you? I need some encouraging Thanks everyone!
Samantha

Hi Samantha,
When I first started I was quite flexible and just purchased the book. Within 6 weeks I was i an open and true front split. Of course not everyone will progress that fast but I can assure you you will improve greatly if you follow the advise given. Hold each stretch for 30 seconds and see how you get on.
